Anamika Khanna Named Lakme Fashion Week Grand Finale Designer
Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 is just around
the corner – with this year marking 15 years of India fashion weeks. The
question that was on everybody’s lips – who will be the Grand Finale designer?
India’s leading beauty brand has chosen Anamika Khanna to put up a majestic
show and predict this summer’s biggest trends.
Here’s what the designer had to say about the
collaboration:
“I am thrilled to be part of such a milestone and
look forward to present my collection at the Grand Finale of the most sought
after event in the Indian fashion scene. The Lakmé beauty statement yet again
is very unique and I’m excited to begin working on my collection inspired by
the Lakmé statement of the season.”
We are eagerly awaiting to see what Anamika Khanna
will showcase this season down the ramp. She was the Grand Finale designer at
Lakmé Fashion Week in 2009 showcasing her bridal collection – and we’re sure
that was just a preview of the beautiful pieces she will be creating this
season. Will it be Khanna’s signature laces, capes and dhoti pants in prints
and brocade? We can only hope she effortlessly seams traditional Indian with
modern methods again to bring a style statement like she always does. We’re
also excited to see how the designer will collaborate with Lakmé for this
season’s make-up palette – we expect something fresh with trend-setting
looks.
The collaboration will showcase on the final day of
Lakmé Fashion Week – March 22, 2015. We are impatiently waiting (and secretly
hoping childhood friend Sonam Kapoor will be her showstopper!)
